How do I connect my computer to LJMU?
- IT Services provide a managed client service for both staff and students, and these computers provide the richest access to managed applications and services. For those users who prefer to use their own computers there are a number of options as to how to connect.
LJMU participate in the eduroam (http://www.eduroam.org/) wireless network system and all staff, and students can connect to this secure wireless network using your JMU username and password. You may need to download a certificate and set up security on your computer/mobile phone etc. and instructions on how to do this can be found at http://www.ljmu.ac.uk/ITHelp/our-network/118730.htm.
Staff are able to connect their own computers to a wired network point. All such computers will be regularly scanned to ensure that they meet the minimum security requirements for connection to the LJMU LAN.
